I had been to Las Vegas a couple of times and I have stayed in fancier places (like Caesars Palace or The Venetian), but today I will write about “Treasure Island- TI Hotel & Casino”. I have stayed there on one of my birthdays…on a budget… This hotel is a great location right on the famous strip. It is reasonably priced even though the rooms are on the smaller side, but they are clean and well appointed.
The fact that I had a great view of the strip from my “Luxury” room, was a definite bonus. Again, the room was clean and the huge bed was really comfortable. I had room service a couple of nights on the hotel, and on both occasions the food was there within 30 minutes.
This could be the best value hotel for a Las Vegas experience if you know how to get the right deal. It’s not the most luxury one compared to the surrounding, but it has its perks, for sure. I don’t drink alcohol and I am not a gambler by any means, but from what I saw, prices were reasonable and matching the Las Vegas experience. The gambling table was also reasonable: $5.00 and $10.00 Black Jack tables available almost all days and nights. The hotel check-in line was reasonable (one day I saw no line-up at all) and the staff was really, really nice.
My special trip was complete not only by the “Cirque du Soleil” show I have seen on my actual birth day (especially if you get the 2-for-1 ticket deal :), but by also the fact that I was only a 7 minute walk away from the Fashion Show Mall and the Venetian Grand Canal Shops (all great for my birthday spending urge).
Even though they say: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” I am not wild enough to keep such a secret…, so, yes, I had such a good time there, I had to tell you about it! Even when I just took a drive down the messy strip traffic (or walk the strip until I had blisters on my feet) to look at everything, I was excited. From checking out the thrill rides to grabbing a bite to eat at local restaurants, to then heading back down the strip or to the stores, Las Vegas will not disappoint you. It is a “once in a lifetime” must see place (although, if you ask me, after visiting this city a few times, it does get a little “kitschy”). The Grand Canyon and the Glass Skywalk are also “must see” places if you make it to the Sin City.
All in all, although Vegas it’s known to be all about spontaneity, make sure you get a bit in the game of planing before you head out, so you can get the most out of your vacation. Where do you want to be? On the Strip? Off the Strip? Near the airport? Near golf? The good news is that you’re never very far from anything. Because this is Las Vegas: crazy, wild, beautiful, grandiose and..unforgettable!!!
